BCG opens every interview with a fit and experience conversation before the case, roughly the first ten to fifteen minutes, scored on drive, communication and a specific reason for BCG. This guide covers that fit portion, not the case.
3 of 5 stages you can practise here
Warm, low-pressure conversation with a recruiter
Region- and year-dependent, and the most likely-to-be-outdated element. BCG now commonly uses the 'BCG Online Case' featuring 'Casey,' a chatbot-driven interactive case; historically it used pymetrics gamified tests and the BCG Potential Test. Which one you hit varies by office/cohort. This is not a spoken round and is out of scope for this product.
Conversational open led by a consultant or project leader who introduces themselves, then asks you to walk through your resume or tell your story
With a Partner or Managing Director & Partner this runs longer and feels like a genuine two-way conversation about your story and motivations
Usually communicated within days to ~2 weeks after the final round.
Built from what BCG publishes about its own process. No leaked question lists. The questions you get are generated against your own resume, so they are not from anyone else's interview.
BCG's own careers site confirming consulting role tracks (experienced professionals, early careers, internships) and firm culture; no dedicated interview-process page was found here.
BCG-authored article on qualities that drive success in consulting (problem solving, drive, communication), directionally supports the fit-dimension framing.
BCG's official interview-prep guidance. www.bcg.com blanket-returns HTTP 403 to automated fetches but is human-readable; recommended for manual re-verification before shipping.
