Warm, logistical phone call
The question shapes this round uses. Larpy does not read these out. It builds each one from your own resume, because the generic version is the one you have already rehearsed.
Capital One’s published process. Lime marks the stage this round runs.
Built from what Capital One publishes about its own process and from real interview data. No leaked question lists. The questions you get are generated against your own resume, so they are not from anyone else's interview.
Process stages and their order: automated assessment, recruiter screen, hour-long virtual test of role knowledge, 30-minute hiring manager pre-screen, then Power Day. Power Day round definitions for job fit, behavioral and case. The "Tell me about a time when" format and the competencies problem solving, influence and results focus. Mini case interviews run about 30 minutes and apply to campus, business analyst, product manager and finance positions. Video is required for all virtual interviews.
The per-program interview matrix. The Technology Development Program & Internship requires behavioral, case and technical interviews, and is not listed among the programs requiring job fit interviews. The online assessment gates the Analyst, Machine Learning and Technology development programs. Power Day is the final round, and a decision most often comes from the recruiter within two weeks.
Power Day is reached after the recruiter and hiring manager phone calls, runs as a series of virtual interviews on Zoom, requires candidates to stay on video for the full duration, and does not include a case interview for every position.
SWE level ladder: Associate Software Eng, Software Eng (Senior Associate), Senior Software Eng (Principal Associate), Lead Software Eng, Senior Lead Software Eng, then Distinguished and Senior Distinguished Eng.
