What happens in each stage›
- Application / Resume Screen
- Resume plus (for new grads) an online application. QR and QuantDev candidates are filtered hard on academic/research pedigree (PhD or strong quantitative degree, publications, competition background).
- Online Assessment
- Timed HackerRank-style autograded test. SWE: 2-4 algorithmic problems, roughly LeetCode medium with some hard, ~60-90 min. QR/QuantDev leans harder into probability, statistics, and math alongside coding. Presence for experienced SWE hires is level-dependent/contested.
- Recruiter Screen
- ~30 min spoken call: logistics, motivation (why Two Sigma, why quant/this role), and a background walkthrough.
- Technical Phone Screen
- One (sometimes two) 45-60 min video calls. SWE: live coding on a shared editor with follow-ups. QR: mix of probability/stats, light coding, and discussion of past research.
- Onsite / Superday
- Typically 4-6 back-to-back 45-60 min rounds. SWE: 2-3 coding, 1 system design (heavier at senior levels), 1 behavioral, sometimes a CS-fundamentals round. QR: 1-2 probability/stats, coding, a research/project deep-dive, and behavioral.
- Hiring Committee Debrief / Team Match
- Interviewers submit written feedback; a committee-style debrief decides. Some pipelines then run team matching before an offer.
