Salesforce

A values-led loop built on Trust, Customer Success and the Ohana culture, where coding weighs stack fluency and the behavioral round leans on supporting teammates and customers.

The Salesforce process

Conversational and warm; recruiter maps your background to a level, gauges motivation for Salesforce specifically, and confirms logistics and comp expectations

    Virtual Onsite Loop

Commonly 4-5 back-to-back rounds: two coding rounds (DS&A, one may lean practical/OOP design), one system design round (senior; often OOD or omitted for new grads), one behavioral/values hiring-manager round, and sometimes a project or team-fit deep-dive.

Common questions

How hard is the Salesforce software engineer coding bar?
It skews easy-to-medium. Salesforce is widely reported as more approachable than Google or Meta on raw algorithm difficulty, and interviewers tend to be collaborative and hint-friendly. Expect arrays/strings/hashmaps, trees and linked lists, and some graph BFS/DFS, with follow-ups on edge cases and Big-O rather than trick optimizations. Salesforce does not publish its coding-round format, so the difficulty read here is candidate-reported rather than company-stated.
Does Salesforce ask object-oriented design questions?
Yes. Salesforce is notably fond of practical OOP/low-level design, such as designing the classes for a parking lot, vending machine, elevator, or deck of cards. You define classes, relationships, methods, and extensibility, and may code key pieces, with SOLID reasoning valued over raw algorithms. (Pattern from candidate reports; not confirmed on a Salesforce-owned page.)
What are Salesforce's core values?
Salesforce publishes five core values: Trust, Customer Success, Innovation, Equality, and Sustainability. Its culture centers on Ohana, a Hawaiian concept of family/community framed by Marc Benioff as caring for employees, customers, partners, and communities as an extended family. Behavioral rounds probe alignment with these values.
How many interview rounds does Salesforce run for engineers?
A typical loop is a recruiter phone screen, a technical coding phone screen, then a virtual onsite of 4-5 back-to-back rounds (usually two coding, one system design or OOD, one behavioral/hiring-manager, and sometimes a project deep-dive), followed by a debrief and team match. New grads may get a HackerRank online assessment. (Structure reconstructed from candidate reports.)
